RM of Tisdale’s story
The Rural Municipality of Tisdale No. 427 began as Local Improvement District 21-M-2. On December 9, 1912, it was incorporated as a rural municipality under the name RM of Eldersley No. 427.
On January 15, 1921, the name was changed to the RM of Tisdale No. 427, the name it carries today.
Today the RM surrounds the town of Tisdale, where the municipal office is located. It also includes the organized hamlet of Sylvania and the locality of Eldersley, the name the municipality once bore. Rail lines of both the CPR and CNR run through the area, and Highways 3, 35, 680 and 776 connect it to the region.
